After what might be termed a wild ride in the first decade of a free market economy, the banking sector in Central Europe has since settled down and increasingly sophisticated products are being allowed under the legal framework and offered by local banks (many of whom have foreign ownership). Nevertheless, many financing vehicles and credit facilities continue to be based overseas and subject to U.S. or U.K. law.
In either case, we can utilize our experience working for lenders as well as borrowers to assist our clients in negotiating the best available terms and conditions for project financing, acquisition financing, leasing, guarantees, letters of credit, and other credit facilities.
V&Co also works with clients on compliance issues, for example advising borrowers on the nature and scope of their rights and obligations arising from their contractual undertakings and covenants. In particular, V&Co can assist with renegotiating economically or legally outdated credit agreements.
