Corporate Counsel
Companies, managers and entrepreneurs face a myriad of issues on a daily basis. Handling these issues correctly can mean maximizing an existing opportunity, identifying and exploiting a new opportunity, and avoiding traps and pitfalls.
In the world of international business, the complexity of these issues becomes all the greater with the juxtaposition of multiple legal regimes. For example, a subsidiary of a U.S. company in the Czech Republic must consider U.S., European Union and Czech law in managing its daily affairs.
V&Co offers the full panoply of corporate legal services. We can act as outside counsel for larger firms, working in support of and alongside the in-house legal department, or we can act as outside general counsel and handle the entire legal agenda for smaller firms, who can save by not investing in in-house counsel. V&Co is particularly well suited to fill this role for foreign enterprises doing business in the Czech Republic and (in cooperation with our colleagues in other jurisdictions) elsewhere in Central Europe.
V&Co can establish a company and handle all the necessary corporate formalities on an on-going basis, assist with the drafting and negotiation of business agreements, contracts with suppliers and customers, management agreements, and employment agreements. As requested, we function as an advisor to management, as a sounding board, and keep a watchful eye on compliance issues. Should the need arise, we can perform a comprehensive or focused legal audit and assist with resolving any identified items of concern. The V&Co team includes specialists in such areas as real estate, labor, employee health and safety, and environmental protection.
